No. 5 Purdue hosts Juric and Penn State

Penn State visits the No. 5 Purdue Boilermakers after Ivan Jurić scored 20 points in the Nittany Lions' 74-72 loss to the Michigan Wolverines
9 HOURS AGO • Associated Press
Career-high 20 in near upset Juric posted 20 points (6-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 6-8 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one steal across 24 minutes during Tuesday's 74-72 loss to Michigan.
Impact Juric's 20 points were the most of his young career as the Nittany Lions came tantalizingly close to pulling off a stunning upset. The freshman center took matters into his own hands, attempting 13 shots, also a career-high. There's been some growing pains with Juric, as to be expected, but this kind of performance against what might be the best team in college basketball is extremely encouraging for the future.

Divine Ugochukwu Career Game Helps Michigan State Avoid Upset Bid by Penn State
Starting Saturday Juric is included in the starting rotation for Saturday's game against Michigan State.
Impact After popping up in the injury report as questionable, Juric is now cleared to play and will get his seventh consecutive start. The freshman center has averaged 9.7 points and 4.0 rebounds on 24.7 minutes across 10 appearances this season.

Stymied in blowout loss Juric finished Tuesday's 113-72 loss to Indiana with two points (1-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt), one rebound and one steal over 24 minutes.
Impact Juric started the last five games for Penn State before the Big Ten opener, averaging 11.6 points and 5.6 rebounds. The freshman center was also coming off three straight double-digit scoring outings heading into the Indiana game. The Nittany Lions proceeded to get their doors blown off, and Juric was completely silenced, hitting just 1-of-5 shots from the field and only pulling down a single rebound. Juric and Penn State need to bounce back quickly after this rude awakening to conference play.

Cruises in starting role Juric racked up 14 points (5-8 FG, 4-8 FT) and nine rebounds in 21 minutes during Saturday's 90-59 victory over Sacred Heart.
Impact Juric started the season as a reserve but played his way into the starting center spot, taking over from Sasa Ciani on Nov. 19 and never looking back. Through four starts, the 7-0 freshman has averaged an impressive 10.5 points and 6.5 rebounds. However, expectations should be kept in check for conference play given the 7-1 Nittany Lions have played an incredibly soft schedule to date. The best opponent Penn State has seen thus far was Providence on Nov. 22 -- a 12-point loss in which Juric was limited to six points due to foul trouble.
