Scores 18, grabs eight boards Mbeng racked up 18 points (5-10 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, six assists and one steal over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 88-72 win over UTSA.

Impact Mbeng put up season highs in points, rebounds, 3-pointers and assists. He had only scored in double digits once before Wednesday. The 6-1 sophomore went scoreless in 26 minutes against Temple on Saturday. The Pirates play Rice on Saturday. Mbeng also went scoreless in 27 minutes in the loss to the Owls on Jan. 28.

Impact In place of Mbeng is Corey Caulker. Despite the former averaging 5.3 assists across his last three games and starts, he also averaged 4.3 points while shooting 22.7 percent from the field and 21.4 percent from deep, offensive leaving much left to be desired.

Impact The 6-1 sophomore has been getting consistent minutes for the Pirates after transferring from William & Mary. He has started three games at ECU, but had struggled with his shot before Tuesday. Mbeng improved his field goal percentage to 41.7 percent and his 3-point percentage to 29.2 percent.

Joining Pirates Mbeng has announced his commitment to ECU, VerbalCommits.com reports.

Impact Mbeng will make the move to East Carolina following a one-year stint with William & Mary. The 6-foot-2 freshman appeared in all 32 games with the Tribe, averaging 5.7 points, 1.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.5 steals on 19.9 minutes per game. The two-way ball handler will look to play his way into a role with the Pirates this offseason.
