Out for 2022-23 season Ihnen (knee) will miss the 2022-23 season after undergoing knee surgery, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Impact After missing all of last season with a knee injury, Ihnen will undergo surgery on the same knee and miss another year of basketball. The last time the forward was on the court in 2020-21, he averaged 2.8 points and 3.5 rebounds.

Impact After suffering a season ending injury last summer, Ihnen has officially fully recovered and is good to go for summer workouts. In two seasons with the Golden Gophers Ihnen has appeared in 60 games and was hoping to step into a bigger role entering the 2021 season. The 6-foot-9 forward will have lots of competition among forwards on the team.

Impact Ihnen came off the bench once again Wednesday, but he saw a sharp uptick in playing time and recorded his second double-double of the year in the loss. His playing time should revert back to normal once Brandon Johnson (ankle) is able to return, but it was encouraging to see the sophomore's effective performance in the loss.

Strong performance off bench Ihnen recorded 12 points (4-6 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, two blocks and one steal over 20 minutes in Sunday's 72-59 loss to Maryland.

Impact Ihnen had been held scoreless in each of the past six contests, but he saw much more playing time off the bench in Sunday's loss. He was efficient and posted a career-high 12 points against the Terrapins, but he hasn't been a consistent member of the Gophers' rotation recently.
