Rueben Chinyelu - Snags 15 boards in exhibition Chinyelu looked like he was in midseason form with 13 points (6-9 FG, 1-3 FT) and 15 rebounds in 33 minutes in the overtime loss to Baylor in Sunday's exhibition.

Impact Chinyelu was the fourth-leading rebounder in the country last season and he should lead the SEC again in board work. Although his efforts at the free-throw stripe are concerning, the 6-10 senior hit 69.5 percent of his freebies last year. He should be ready for another year filled with double-doubles.

AJ Brown - Comes off bench in exhibition Brown (shoulder) played nine minutes off the Gator bench and provided three points (1-4 FG, 1-3 3Pt), three rebounds and an assist in the overtime exhibition loss to Baylor on Sund...

Impact Brown played on the scout team last season as he recovered from shoulder surgery. The 6-4 senior hit 38.8 percent of his 3-pointers in 2024-25 when he averaged 13.2 points for Ohio. The older brother of Isaiah Brown could be a key bench player for the Gators.

Thomas Haugh - Earns preseason hardware Haugh has been named the SEC's Preseason Player of the Year, per Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.

Impact This comes as little surprise. Haugh broke out for the Gators last season, averaging 17.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.0 blocks on 46/33/74 shooting splits. He returns to Gainesville for his senior season as Florida's centerpiece, and he should be poised for another monster year as he tries to get the Gators back to the Final Four and ultimately, another national title.

Denzel Aberdeen - Granted eligibility for 2026-27 Aberdeen has been granted a preliminary injunction, paving the way for him to play in 2026-27, per Andrew Abadie of PineBeltSports.com.

Impact Aberdeen is one of thousands of athletes who graduated high school in 2022 and were left high and dry by the new five-for-five eligibility rule, as for some reason it doesn't apply to them .However, the guard has legally secured eligibility for a fifth year in Gainesville for the time being.
