Matthews has largely been a supplementary scorer for the Mountaineers with 9.6 points per game this season, and he finished with six or fewer points in four of the five games prior to Wednesday's win. Matthews will run into another difficult challenge when West Virginia takes on Texas in a road matchup Saturday.
