Hardly involved over 20 minutes Barnes ended Wednesday's 106-76 loss to Auburn with six points (2-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-5 FT) and one steal across 20 minutes.

Impact Barnes put up seven shots across 20 minutes but only scored six points and didn't finish with a single rebound or assist. For a guard who has only scored in double figures three times this season, that kind of exclusively shot-happy performance off the bench was certainly one of the contributing factors in what was a brutal 30-point defeat. Barnes is now at 18.3 percent from three point range this season.

Impact Barnes didn't hit a shot from the field but managed to get to the line enough to finish with six points. The guard did manage to pull down five boards and dish out two assists as well, playing his role well once again off the bench for the Rebels. He'll continue to be a key cog for head coach Chris Beard's squad.

Impact Barnes has started the last three games for the Rebels, but he's scored a total of 14 points across those contests. The guard simply hasn't been that assertive as of late, averaging 4.4 shots-per-game over his last five outings. The Sam Houston transfer has also struggled from thee, hitting just 21.4 percent of his shots as opposed to the 39.1 percent he hit last season with the Bearkats.

Impact Barnes got just his third start of the season against Southern Miss, and he nearly recorded a double-double. After corralling just two rebounds in his second start the game prior, he was more assertive on the glass with 11 boards against the Golden Eagles. Barnes has had a rough go of it from three-point land (20.7 percent from distance on the season), but he's been efficient otherwise and should be a solid starter if he remains in the Rebel's first five moving forward.
