Impact The Golden Bears cruised to an easy win Monday and Ames led the way in the scoring column. Ames is enjoying an excellent start to the season after surpassing the 20-point mark in his last two appearances. He's averaging 21.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game to open the campaign.

Impact Ames will transfer for the second straight year with two years of college eligibility remaining. The 6-foot-1 guard started 26 games for Virginia this past season, averaging 8.7 points, 1.9 assists, and 1.4 rebounds. Ames could be part of a collective group that replenishes the loss of California's second leading scorer and ACC Sixth Man of the Year, Jeremiah Wilkinson, who entered the transfer portal two weeks ago.

Impact Ames previous season best was a 16-point game back in non-conference play in November, so to see this from the sophomore was truly unexpected.
