GAME LOG
Contained offensively in loss
Fredrick provided five points (2-7 FG, 1-6 3Pt) over 32 minutes during Tuesday's 86-77 2OT loss to Michigan State.
Impact
Fredrick was contained by the Spartans' defense, as the guard faced a familiar Big Ten foe. The Iowa transfer is averaging 13.0 points and 2.0 assists across the first three games this year.

Hot shooting continues
Fredrick had a team-high 15 points (5-8 FG< 4-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT) to go along with three rebounds, an assist and a block across 28 minutes in Sunday's 56-38 exhibition victory over Miss...
Impact
Now healthy after not appearing in any games for the Wildcats last season, Fredrick looks like a walking bucket. He's a player who appears in line to secure a starting role, but whether or not that happens, Fredrick is likely the odds-on favorite to lead Big Blue in three-point shooting in 2022-23. He's someone opposing defenses simply cannot leave open, even in transition.

Efficient line in scrimmage
Fredrick had 18 points (7-11 FG, 4-5 3Pt), five rebounds and two assists across 40 minutes in Saturday's intrasquad scrimmage.
Impact
Fredrick has been managed carefully this offseason, as he sat out a foreign tour game for load management and didn't participate in Big Blue Madness due to an ankle injury. He seems to be in the clear now, however, as he wouldn't otherwise participate in a low-stakes exhibition contest. While Fredrick did face opposition that included several walk-ons, he did put forth the most efficient stat line of the game, which is similar to what his role will be during the year. He missed the entire 2021-22 season, but will now be back to provide a major boost in outside shooting.

Eyeing summer return
Fredrick will try to make his return for Kentucky this summer as he works through rehab for his hamstring injury, Adam Haste of SB Nation reports.
Impact
Fredrick will not try and make a return during the NCAA tournament this year and will instead focus on returning this summer. The junior guard underwent hamstring surgery after suffering an injury prior to the 2021-2022 season. In 2020 with Iowa, Fredrick started 27 games, averaging 7.5 points, 1.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 0.4 steals on 24.7 minutes per game. Fredrick will look to return to action over the summer for the Wildcats.

Likely out for season
Fredrick (hamstring) will undergo surgery that will likely force him to miss the remainder of the season.
Impact
Fredrick had missed the Wildcats' first two games of the season due to his hamstring injury, and he's unlikely to take the court during the 2021-22 campaign. Kellan Grady and Davion Mintz will likely take on increased roles for Kentucky with Fredrick unavailable.

Spotted on crutches
Fredrick (hamstring) was spotted on crutches prior to Friday's game against Robert Morris, John Clay of the Lexington Herald-Leader reports.
Impact
Fredrick's appearance on crutches doesn't bode well for a swift return from an injury that has kept him out of commission of late. the junior will likely be given ample time to get healthy now that the competition level has dropped for a while.

Absent from warmups
Fredrick (leg) isn't taking part in warmups ahead of Friday's game versus Robert Morris, Jack Pilgrim of Kentucky Sports Radio reports.
Impact
Fredrick appears set to miss his second consecutive game to open the 2021-22 season as he continues to recover from a leg issue suffered during the summer. He has some time before the level of competition ramps up again, but Fredrick will likely look to get in on some action to get up to speed before it does.

No-go in opener
As expected, Fredrick (lower body) did not take the court in Tuesday's season-opening loss to Duke.
Impact
The Wildcats still managed to shoot a respectable 7-for-18 from distance without the sharpshooter, but Fredrick will eventually provide a big boost in that area, as the Iowa transfer knocked down 47.4 percent of his three-pointers last season. His next chance to take the court will be Friday against Robert Morris.

ROTOWIRE
Unlikely to play in opener
Fredrick (lower body) is unlikely to play in Tuesday's season-opener against Duke, Jeff Drummond of Rivals.com reports.
Impact
Frederick is still trying to make his way back from a lower body injury. Coach Cal said that Fredrick has been able to practice a bit, but that he's not sure this is the game he wants to put him in. It sounds like the transfer from Iowa is getting closer to a return, but his full impact probably won't be felt until further down the line this season once he is fully comfortable with his leg.

To practice Saturday
Fredrick (lower body) is expected to practice Saturday for the first time since injuring his leg over the summer, Jeff Drummond of Cats Illustrated reports.
Impact
The specifics of what his participation level at practice will look like is unclear. Previous reports indicated he had already joined practice, but as a non-contact participant. So, this most recent update indicates he may be more involved in his participation going forward. While this news is certainly encouraging, it remains to be seen if he will be in game-shape and ready for Tuesday's season opener verus Duke.

Sitting out exhibition
Fredrick (lower body) will not take part in Friday's exhibition versus Duke, Maggie Davis of BBN Tonight reports.
Impact
Fredrick appears to still be recovering from his injury with only days remaining before the regular season starts with a bang against Duke next Tuesday. Given his recent absences, it seems likely Fredrick would be limited for the Wildcats against the Blue Devils even if he's cleared as conditioning could be an issue.

Out Friday
Fredrick (lower body) won't take part in Friday's exhibition versus Kentucky Wesleyan College, Jack Pilgrim of Kentucky Sports Radio reports.
Impact
Per Pilgrim, the plan is to play Fredrick spot minutes next week Friday versus Miles College in the season opener. That could allow him to get in a little more versus Duke the following game, though he will still likely need to continue working on conditioning.

Joins practice, still no contact
Fredrick (lower body) began practicing Tuesday but is still not cleared for full contact, Jack Pilgrim of Kentucky Sports Radio reports.
Impact
Fredrick underwent minor surgery during the summer but anticipates being ready for the start of the season. He will likely need to rejoin practices in a full capacity relatively soon if that is to come to fruition. He figures to play a sizeable role for the Wildcats when healthy, though it's unclear at this point if he will be part of the starting lineup.
