Getting eased in Minlend saw one minute on the court in his return to action Wednesday against Wake Forest.

Impact Minlend received clearance to make his season debut after the senior San Francisco transfer missed the first nine games with a knee injury. While the impact was minimal here, Minlend was a 14.4 ppg scorer last year with the Dons and should provide some valuable depth in the Louisville backcourt.

Active Wednesday Minlend (knee) is active for Wednesday's game against Wake Forest, Shannon Russell of The Athletic reports.

Impact The senior has finally been cleared from his left knee injury, as this will be the first time that Minlend will be active this season. Over 34 appearances with San Francisco in 2019-20, Minlend averaged 14.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

Impact Minlend suffered a knee injury during the preseason and has not been able to take the court yet this year. The transfer from San Francisco was able to partake in warmups last Saturday against Kentucky but head coach Chris Mack still thinks he's about a week or two away from hopefully playing. Despite an eventual return on the horizon, Minlend won't make his Cardinals' debut until the coaching staff feels confident that he's at full strength as they feel no dire need to rush him back.

Impact Minlend has been sidelined since early December after suffering an MCL sprain in his left knee. The 6-4 guard transferred into the Cardinals' program as a graduate transfer from San Francisco but will have to wait a few more weeks before making his debut for head coach Chris Mack. After averaging double-digit points in each of his three seasons with Dons, Minlend should provide some nice depth in the backcourt once he's cleared to return.

Sidelined with MCL sprain Minlend will be sidelined for six weeks after suffering a sprained MCL in his left knee during Louisville's Nov. 5 practice.

Impact Louisville has been hit hard by the injury bug as the start of the 2020-21 season approaches, as the Cardinals announced over the weekend that big man Malik Williams would be sidelined for approximately three months after undergoing foot surgery. Minlend, a graduate transfer from San Francisco, won't require a procedure for his knee, but he likely won't be able to make his Louisville debut until at least mid-December while he treats his knee injury through rest and rehab. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound guard was expected to fill a spot in the Cardinals' backcourt rotation after averaging 14.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.4 three-pointers and 1.0 steals per game as a redshirt junior with San Francisco in 2019-20.
