Shut down for 2025-2026
Willis (ankle) is out for the remainder of the season, per Andy Greder of the Twin Cities Pioneer Press.
Impact
Willis hurt his ankle in the Gophers' loss to Stanford on Thanksgiving, and was subsequently spotted with a boot on his right ankle. Now, Minnesota's worst fears have been realized, as its starting point guard is now officially lost for the season. Langston Reynolds got the start in his absence, and looks primed for a much bigger role going forward in lieu of Willis.

Suffers injury Thursday
Willis suffered a right ankle injury in Thursday's loss to Stanford, Tony Liebert of SI.com reports.
Impact
Willis was limited to four minutes in the first half after picking up two early fouls, but that wasn't the most concerning aspect of his outing. He was spotted with a boot on his right ankle in the second half, so it's unclear if he'll be able to play when the Golden Gophers resume play Friday against Santa Clara.

Well-rounded outing in win
Willis finished with five points (2-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, five assists and six steals over 30 minutes during Tuesday's 66-54 win over Chicago State.
Impact
Willis was a factor in all areas as the Gophers topped Chicago State. He continues to struggle a touch as a shooter, especially from three-point range where he's at just 18.2 percent on the season. Still, the Western Michigan transfer is proving he can contribute in plenty of ways for Minnesota.
