Shut down with knee issue Coach Bruce Pearl said Friday that Westry has been shut down for the rest of the season due to a right knee injury, Tom Green of AL.com reports.

Impact Westry underwent knee surgery in October and was initially cleared to play after six weeks, but he's had lingering issues over the past couple months and hasn't seen game action since Jan. 4. He's played in just 11 games this season and could qualify for a medical redshirt if those contests account for less than 30 percent of Auburn's total games, which isn't guaranteed given the regular-season schedule has 31 games.

Returns to floor Westry (knee) totaled no counting stats in one minute during Wednesday's 76-64 loss to Georgia.

Impact Westry did not appear for long, but his return is an encouraging sign after missing the previous game with a knee injury. The freshman guard has seen a decrease in his minutes since the beginning of the season, playing just three combined minutes over his last three appearances. Westry is averaging 2.7 points and 1.1 assists in 10.3 minutes per game, though it does not appear that he will be assuming the same role he did earlier in the season.
