Won't return to program Head coach Will Wade said Friday that Penn-Johnson won't return to LSU, Dan Raley of Sports Illustrated reports.

Impact The big man, who left the program due to homesickness, won't return to LSU's basketball program. It's currently unclear whether he'll look to join a new program. The seven-footer spent two seasons with Washington before transferring to LSU in the summer of 2020. Penn-Johnson registered two points, three rebounds and an assist over 17 minutes during five games this season before leaving the program.

Impact Penn-Johnson is a transfer from Washington and a California native and has never been this far from home. It seems as though he hasn't quite gotten used to his new surroundings and so head coach Will Wade is giving him some time to work through his issues before he returns to the team. Penn-Johnson has averaged 0.4 points and 0.6 rebounds in 3.4 minutes per game this season so his absence won't have much of an impact for the Tigers.
