Impact Lorient was seeking an extra year of eligibility and apparently got his wish granted. The 6-foot-9 senior averaged 11.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game in the 2025-26 campaign.

Seeking extra year of eligibility Lorient (not injury related) has filed a lawsuit seeking immediate eligibility for the 2026-27 season, according to Keenan Cummings of On3.com.

Impact Lorient is one of two West Virginia players seeking immediate eligibility for the 2026-27 season through a waiver, with Javan Buchanan being the other. Lorient figures to be a starter for VWU if he's granted eligibility to play. He averaged 11.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.3 blocks per game in 2025-26.
