Impact Mahan injured his foot in a Feb. 17 contest against Houston and was spotted in a walking boot afterwards, but there have been some positive developments of late. While the senior didn't officially participate in Tuesday's practice, he was seen walking without crutches and no longer wearing a boot. When asked about Mahan's status in specific, coach Johnny Dawkins said "He's getting better. It's just it's a process. It's day-to-day with him and we'll see where we are come Thursday." The 10.6 ppg scorer appears far from a lock to play in the opener, but a return during the AAC tournament -- especially if UCF can win a game or two -- appears to be on the table, at least.
