First double-double of '25-26 Smith closed with 16 points (4-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 7-9 FT), three rebounds, 10 assists and two steals across 27 minutes during Sunday's 97-79 victory over Akron. Impact Smith has been electric this season, including his 29-point showing in a massive takedown of Alabama. Still, the win over the Zips was the first time the All-American point guard logged a double-double this season. It's his second double-digit assist game this season, and while he was rather cold from the field hitting just 4-of-12 shots, he's still been excellent overall as a scorer and is shooting 40 percent from downtown on 5.0 attempts per game. Smith's exploits have helped pilot the Boilermakers back into the No. 1 spot in the AP Poll.
