UTSA earns 84-56 win over Rice

Impact After giving the transfer portal a shot, Akuchie will re-enroll at Rice for his third season. He improved between his first and second seasons, the latter including averages of 3.6 points and 3.5 rebounds across 31 games (eight started). Obviously, Akuchie is looking for more again, but whether or not he will get more remains unclear.

Notches 10 points in return Akuchie (undisclosed) returned to action Thursday against North American and finished with 10 points (5-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and four rebounds in 11 minutes.

Impact Akuchie missed four consecutive games due to injury and returned to score a season-high 10 points. The 6-9 freshman had been held scoreless three games in a row before being injured. Despite the efficient performance, Akuchie figures to remain in a depth role in the frontcourt.
