Dealing with ankle sprain Condon (ankle) has been diagnosed with a right ankle sprain and his status for Saturday's game against South Carolina is questionable, Graham Hall of 247Sports.com reports.

Impact Condon's X-ray came back negative which provides a sigh of relief as the injury appeared to be severe. The sophomore forward's status should become clearer as the week progresses.

Impact Condon had a rough night from the field, but he cleaned up the glass, notably with five of his seven rebounds coming on the offense end to give the Gators extra chances to score. He also chipped in defensively with two blocks and four steals, all of which wound up being critical in a one-point victory to narrowly avoid upset. The forward's scoring will come and go, but he's still close to averaging a double-double.

Impact While Condon's offensive game is still a bit of a work in progress at times, he's picking up his rebounding efforts with the calendar turning to 2025. The sophomore now has double-digit rebounds in four of his last five games, bringing his season average up to 8.0 rpg. The fact that he was able to to post a double-double against one of the best defenses in the country in a lopsided upset victory is certainly a great sign for his rest-of-season outlook.

Impact Condon was primarily a reserve last season, but he's moved into the starting five for his sophomore year and alternates between power forward and center. He leads the undefeated Gators in rebounding while also chipping in 1.3 rejections per contest and even hitting the occasional three-pointer, which plants him firmly on the fantasy radar despite the fact Florida hasn't played a game since Dec. 4. Next up is a road matchup Saturday at Arizona State.

All that is a sample of what will be expected from the sophomore, whose freshman season included averages of 7.7 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks across 20.3 minutes. Micah Handlogten (lower leg) being ruled out for Florida's 2024-25 season should gift Condon more minutes, increasing his chances of improving in other statistical rates as well.
