Enters second-chance program
Holloway (suspension) has entered a second-chance program for his felony charges, according to Mike Rodak of 247Sports.com.
Impact
Back in March, Holloway was indicted on two felony charges, one for first-degree possession of marijuana and another for failing to affix a tax stamp. The second-chance program is part of a plea agreement that, ideally for him, grants him collegiate eligibility next season. It is worth noting that his second-chance program is a single step, far from clearance. Back on Thursday, Alabama athletics director Greg Byrne told AL.com that "there would still be multiple steps before we would consider a plan to allow him the opportunity to officially rejoin the program" and added that the notion that he will immediately be back on its roster is premature.

Status still up in air
Holloway (suspension) has his status still up in the air, according to The Field of 68.
Impact
It has been just over a month since Holloway saw his Alabama suspension reduced to the team, as he is allowed to re-enroll there for his senior season. In said month, the Tide have been re-shaping their roster, but it is unknown whether or not include him. If it does, Holloway would be a massive return, considering he logged top numbers, featuring 16.8 points and 2.6 three-pointers made on 48.1/43.8/86.4 shooting splits last season.

Returning to school
Holloway's suspension has been reversed by the University of Alabama, meaning he's allowed to return to school but remains suspended by the basketball team, per AL.com.
Impact
Holloway's status with the Crimson Tide basketball program is still up in the air as his legal battle with the state of Alabama rages on following his arrest for Marijuana possession. However, the fact that the university has allowed him to return to class signifies that its doing everything it can to retain the star point guard, who averaged 16.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 2025-26.

Receives permission to leave state
Holloway (suspension) has received permission to leave the state of Alabama, according to Matt Stahl of AL.com.
Impact
After getting arrested for a marijuana charge, Holloway posted bond with the condition that he had to receive permission to leave the state of Alabama. According to Holloway's attorney, the junior plans on leaving Alabama this Friday and returning to the state Monday. Holloway's teammates are in Chicago for the Sweet Sixteen, and now that he can travel, it looks like he can go to the Windy City to play Michigan. The NCAA will update its final availability just two hours before both teams play, and it ideally provides an indication of whether Holloway can officially play.
