Leads bench in scoring
Seiko had 10 points (2-7 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 5-8 FT), six rebounds and three assists in 27 minutes during Saturday's 63-58 victory over Colorado State.
Impact
Seiko joins Trey Pulliam as the only Aztecs to record double-digit scoring across each of their Mountain West Tournament wins. Despite a cold performance from beyond the arc Friday, Seiko is shooting a strong 42.0 percent from deep on 3.3 attempts per game.

Will return in 2022-23
Seiko will utilize his additional year of eligibility and remain at San Diego State for the 2022-23 season, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact
Seiko has appeared in 111 games across his four years with the Aztecs, and he'll return for a fifth season in 2022-23. He's averaging 5.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 23.1 minutes per contest while shooting 41.7 percent from deep this year.

Plays 27 minutes in return
Seiko (COVID-19 protocols) chipped in three points (1-4 FG, 1-4 3Pt), two rebounds and one assist across 27 minutes during Saturday's 42-37 loss to Boise State.
Impact
Seiko missed the Aztecs' win over Colorado State on Jan. 8, but he returned to the court following a one-game absence. Although he came off the bench after starting in each of his last five appearances, he saw plenty of playing time and should be available going forward.

Could practice Monday
Seiko (COVID-19 protocols) could be back at practice Monday, Jon Schaeffer of XTRA 1360 reports.
Impact
Seiko's return would be big for the Aztecs given his 33.2 minutes per contest over his last five appearances. If he practices and all goes well, a return to the floor Wednesday versus Wyoming shouldn't be out of the question.

Out against Colorado State
Seiko (COVID Protocols) will not play Saturday against Colorado State, Mark Zeigler of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Impact

Tough sledding against Michigan
Seiko racked up three points (1-5 FG, 1-5 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 32 minutes during Saturday's 72-58 loss to Michigan.
Impact
While Seiko returned from a two-game absence and saw his best minutes total of the season, it was tough sledding against one of the top perimeter defenses he has seen all year. Through six games, Seiko is on pace for a career-low 25.0 percent from distance, though that should eventually correct itself as the schedule eases up and he sees more opportunities. The volume should at least be there, at least while backcourt mate and primary ball handler Lamont Butler takes a month to recover from a broken wrist.

Will start Saurday
Seiko (quad) will start Saturday's contest against Michigan, Michigan beat writer Dylan Burkhardt reports.
Impact
Seiko has sat out the last pair of games for the Aztecs but is back in the fold and the starting five. His start is a bit surprising considering he was coming off the bench in the three games prior to his absence, but Seiko notably averaging 29.5 minutes in his two starts to open the campaign.

Expected to play Saturday
Seiko (quadriceps) is expected to be available for Saturday's game against Michigan, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact
Seiko has missed the last two games due to a quad injury, but coach Brian Dutcher expects the senior to return to the court against the Wolverines. Across his first five appearances (two starts) this year, Seiko has averaged 3.6 points and 2.2 rebounds in 21.4 minutes per game.

Sits out again
Seiko (quad) didn't play in Tuesday's game versus Long Beach State.
Impact
Seiko was deemed a game-time call leading up to the tilt and was ultimately held out for a second straight game. His next chance to retake the floor arrives Saturday when the Aztecs travel to Crisler Arena to take on Michigan.

Status uncertain Tuesday
Seiko (quadriceps) is a game-time decision for Tuesday's game against Long Beach State, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact
Seiko missed Friday's game against USC with a quad contusion and may wind up missing at least one more. He started the first two games of the season but hit the bench for the next three, averaging a modest 4.3 points in 16.0 minutes per game in that role.

Sits Friday with quad issue
Seiko did not take the court Friday against USC due to a quad contusion suffered in the previous game against Georgetown, Mark Zeigler of the San Diego Union Tribune reports.
Impact
Seiko apparently tried to give it a go during warmups but was ultimately ruled unable to participate. The Aztecs have a few days before getting a chance to rebound Tuesday against Long Beach State, and Seiko should be considered questionable for that contest. If he's unable to go, San Diego State would presumably turn to Keith Dinwiddie again as the top reserve guard, though he didn't contribute much in Seiko's absence Friday, going 0-for-5 from the field.

Heads to bench
Seiko is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Sun Devils, SunDevilSource.com reports.
Impact
Seiko will head to the bench for the first time this season after showing some early struggles through the first two games. The 6-3 senior has totaled five points (2-9 FG, 1-7 3Pt), seven rebounds, two assists and a steal in 59 total minutes. His poor shooting has landed him a spot on the bench for now but it wouldn't be surprising if he still saw upwards of 20 minutes.
