Io Shirai & Kay Lee Ray collide with Dakota Kai & Wendy Choo in the 2022 Women's Dusty Cup finals

After a tournament filled with shocking upsets and surprise partnerships, the second annual Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Championship Match is set!

The 2022 Dusty Cup featured a variety of newly formed and veteran pairs, all vying for an opportunity to challenge Toxic Attraction for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships. The inaugural Dusty Classic winners Raquel Gonzalez & Dakota Kai were once again in the tournament, although joining forces with new teammates, with Kai pinning her former partner to advance to the finals for the second straight time.

Kai and her "odd couple" partner Wendy Choo stunned the NXT Universe with their unlikely pairing, defeating the veteran tag team of Indi Hartwell & Persia Pirotta in the opening round of the tournament before pulling off the upset against Big Mami Cool & Cora Jade in the semifinals thanks in part to a surprise attack from Toxic Attraction on Gonzalez.

They'll be met in the finals by another surprising partnership in the form of Io Shirai & Kay Lee Ray who dominated Lash Legend & Amari Miller in the first round of the tournament. The powerhouse duo then punched their ticket to the finals following a thrilling semifinal match against the established team of Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter.
