Juventus wins to rise in Women's Champions League standings. Barcelona, Man City also in action
MANCHESTER, England (AP) — Juventus made it two wins from three games in the Women’s Champions League on Thursday before Barcelona was in action aiming to extend the only perfect record in the 18-team standings.
Juventus won 4-1 at Austria Vienna to move up to fifth in the standings, and Paris FC was denied a first win by last-placed Häcken’s goal deep in stoppage time of a 1-1 draw.
In later games, defending champion Barcelona was facing HB Køge in Denmark in the week of winning the best women's club award at the Ballon d'Or ceremony in London.
A win would lift Barcelona top of the standings above OL Lyonnes, Arsenal and Chelsea which are all on seven points after three rounds.
Manchester City was hosting Paris Saint-Germain, after their men’s teams also met this month. That Champions League game in Manchester was won 4-2 by title holder PSG.
