Hair-pulling red cards mar Concacaf match as Antigua and Barbuda beat Anguilla 5-0

ST. JOHN'S, Antigua (AP) — With his long dreadlocks, Aedan Scipio is one of the most stylish players in international soccer. They, however, also attract unwanted attention, making him an easy target for frustrated opponents.

Scipio came off the bench during the second half of a Concacaf Nations League game over the weekend, with his Anguilla team trailing 5-0 against Antigua and Barbuda.

Three minutes after he came on, Keon Greene was the first Antigua and Barbuda player to get sent off for pulling his hair after Scipio dispossessed him of the ball.

Scipio — whose dreadlocks are so long he has to wear them attached to his back during matches — was again dragged to the floor in added time when Shalon Knight grabbed his hair and received a red card.

Despite finishing with nine men, Antigua and Barbuda did not concede a goal and won 5-0.

Anguilla is second to last of 211 teams in the FIFA rankings, with Antigua and Barbuda in 163rd place.
