West scores 14 as Western Illinois downs Lindenwood 68-57
MACOMB, Ill. (AP) — Jesiah West scored 14 points as Western Illinois beat Lindenwood 68-57 on Saturday night.
West added 11 rebounds for the Leathernecks (10-6, 3-0 Ohio Valley Conference). James Dent Jr. shot 4 for 12 (3 for 10 from 3-point range) and 3 of 4 from the free throw line to add 14 points. JJ Kalakon shot 5 for 12, including 2 for 4 from beyond the arc to finish with 13 points. The Leathernecks picked up their seventh straight victory.
Darius Beane finished with 16 points and two steals for the Lions (6-9, 0-2). Lindenwood also got 13 points and eight rebounds from Keenon Cole. Isaac Ondekane also recorded nine points.
Both teams next play Thursday. Western Illinois visits UT Martin and Lindenwood takes on Southeast Missouri State on the road.
