NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Drew Pember scored 30 points as UNC Asheville beat Charleston Southern 71-65 on Saturday night.
Pember also contributed eight rebounds for the Bulldogs (14-8, 6-1 Big South Conference). Nicholas McMullen scored 12 points and added six rebounds. Caleb Burgess was 3-of-10 shooting and 4 of 6 from the free-throw line to finish with 10 points.
The Buccaneers (6-14, 2-5) were led in scoring by RJ Johnson, who finished with 23 points and eight rebounds. A'lahn Sumler added 12 points and nine rebounds for Charleston Southern. In addition, Taje' Kelly finished with 12 points.
