McQuarter leads Alcorn State over Bethune-Cookman 76-68

LORMAN, Miss. (AP) — Dontrell McQuarter scored 20 points as Alcorn State beat Bethune-Cookman 76-68 on Monday night.

McQuarter was 7-of-9 shooting and 6 of 6 from the free-throw line for the Braves (9-10, 6-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference), who have won six straight. Jeremiah Kendall scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Dominic Brewton scored 11.

Zion Harmon led the Wildcats (6-14, 2-5) with 22 points and four assists. Marcus Garrett added 17 points and four assists. Kevin Davis pitched in with 13 points and 14 rebounds.

Both teams play on Saturday. Alcorn State visits Southern while Bethune-Cookman hosts Alabama State.
