Hayes scores 21 as San Diego defeats NAIA Westcliff 78-65
SAN DIEGO (AP) — PJ Hayes scored 21 points as San Diego beat NAIA Westcliff 78-65 on Sunday night.
Hayes shot 7 for 12, including 5 for 10 from beyond the arc for the Toreros (10-5). Dragos Lungu added 13 points while shooting 5 for 12, including 1 for 5 from beyond the arc, and grabbed seven rebounds. Wayne McKinney III was 3-of-12 shooting and 4 of 4 from the free-throw line to finish with 10 points, while adding seven rebounds and five assists.
The Warriors were led by Jamal Briscoe, who posted 19 points, eight rebounds and four assists. John Duff added 12 points, eight rebounds and three blocks for Westcliff. In addition, Justin Boateng finished with 11 points and two steals.
