Brooks leads UMass-Lowell over Long Island University 78-65
LOWELL, Mass. (AP) — Max Brooks had 17 points to lead UMass Lowell to a 78-65 win over Long Island University on Tuesday night.
Brooks also contributed seven rebounds for the River Hawks (7-3). Quinton Mincey scored 14 points while going 5 of 10 from the floor, including 0 for 4 from 3-point range, and 4 for 5 from the line, and added eight rebounds. Brayden O'Connor shot 5 for 9 (0 for 3 from 3-point range) and 3 of 3 from the free throw line to finish with 13 points, while adding eight rebounds.
The Sharks (1-8) were led by Tana Kopa, who recorded 17 points. Nikola Djapa added 15 points, 10 rebounds and three steals for LIU. In addition, Terell Strickland had 10 points and two steals.
