Raquel Carrera - WNBA News, Rumors, & Updates

Perfect from field Carrera closed with nine points (3-3 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, four assists and one steal across 28 minutes during Wednesday's 83-65 loss to the Dream.

Impact Carrera turned in an efficient all-around performance while making each of her three field-goal attempts and both of her free throws with Breanna Stewart (knee) out. She also took on an expanded role after Jonquel Jones exited with an ankle injury, ultimately logging more than 28 minutes for the first time this season.

Records steal off bench Carrera produced one steal over six minutes during Sunday's 106-69 victory over the Tempo.

Impact Carrera was held scoreless for a fifth consecutive appearance Sunday, but she recorded her second steal in her last three outings during the comfortable win. The 24-year-old hasn't been a significant part of New York's rotation this year, and that seems unlikely to change as the regular season draws to a close.

Lacks clear role Carrera supplied zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one steal over three minutes during Thursday's 79-60 loss to Golden State.

Impact Carrera doesn't appear to have a stable role in New York's rotation, making her fairly safe to leave on waiver wires while the team is healthy. She's been held scoreless in three consecutive appearances, appearing in only half of the Liberty's last six games.

AUGUST 28 • ROTOWIRE

Logs four minutes in loss Carrera ended Tuesday's 106-92 loss to the Fever with zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one rebound in four minutes.

Impact Carrera continues to be used sparingly by the Liberty. Unless there's some rotation tweaks in her favor, she will remain off the fantasy radar.

AUGUST 12 • ROTOWIRE

Lacking clear role Carrera recorded no counting stats across three minutes during Tuesday's 113-109 win over the Sparks.

Impact Carrera has logged three minutes in three consecutive outings and been held scoreless in seven of her last nine appearances. Fantasy managers can safely ignore her on waiver wires for the time being.

JULY 29 • ROTOWIRE

Subdued campaign continues Carrera supplied one assist across five minutes during Tuesday's 88-77 loss to the Wings.

Impact That's now three straight scoreless games by Carrera, who appears to be buried on New York's depth chart at center behind Jonquel Jones and Han Xu. Carrera has reached the 10-minute marker just twice over her 10 appearances in 2026.

JULY 8 • ROTOWIRE

Scores seven against Seattle Carrera contributed seven points (3-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and five rebounds in 17 minutes during Thursday's 99-88 loss to Seattle.

Impact Carrera has been on the fringes of New York's rotation for most of the season, but she saw an uptick in work Thursday since the Liberty were playing without Breanna Stewart (rest) and Satou Sabally (concussion). Carrera matched her season-best marks in points and rebounds in the defeat, but she'll likely see less usage once Stewart and Sabally are back in action.

JUNE 26 • ROTOWIRE

Totals seven points off bench Carrera provided seven points (2-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one block over 13 minutes during Monday's 89-80 win over the Sun.

Impact Carrera was sharp in her brief time off the bench, posting a solid rebounding total, while accounting for one of the team's four blocks. She was seeing a bump in playing time with Jonquel Jones (illness) out due to illness, and Han Xu moving from a bench role to the starting lineup. Once Jones is well, Carrera's playing time is likely to dry up again.

Set active Sunday Carrera (overseas commitment) has been activated by the Liberty and will be available for Sunday's game against the Wings.

Impact Carrera's contract suspension was lifted after she completed her overseas playing obligations. The 24-year-old center rejoined New York for shootaround earlier in the week and has now received full clearance to make her season debut. While the team may ease her into game action, Carrera should immediately provide depth off the bench behind Jonquel Jones and Han Xu in the frontcourt rotation.

The team indicated Wednesday that she didn't yet have a timetable to return, and while she'll be unavailable for at least one more game, it's encouraging that she's rejoined the team. Once she gets the green light for game action, she'll presumably compete for minutes off the bench.
