Steps away from Golden State Vanloo has stepped away from the Valkyries to compete in EuroBasket, Kendra Andrews of ESPN reports.

Impact Vanloo is the second Valkyrie to step away for this reason. With Vanloo away from the team for the foreseeable future, this will be a big opportunity for Carla Leite to step up. Monique Billings and Kate Martin could also be asked to step up in Vanloo's absence.

Impact Vanloo moved back into the starting lineup, but she wasn't terribly effective from the field, especially from behind the three-point line. However, she salvaged the stat line with eight assists and five rebounds. The assists tied her season best, as she also had eight in a game on May 29 against the Liberty, and her five rebounds were the most so far this season.

Impact It's not immediately clear how soon Vanloo will depart the Valkyries. Vanloo has appeared in six games to open the 2025 season, averaging 4.5 points, 3.2 assists, 1.7 rebounds and 0.5 steals.

Impact Vanloo played 27 minutes and scored 14 points during the season-opening loss to the Sparks, which are both still season-high marks for the veteran guard. However, she also committed six turnovers during that game, which prompted a reduced role as she averaged only 14.3 minutes over the next three contests. Surprisingly, Vanloo saw increased playing time Thursday, despite Tiffany Hayes (nose) and Cecilia Zandalasini (foot) being cleared to suit up following multi-game absences. Hayes didn't see any playing time in her return, while Zandalasini saw 15 minutes off the bench.
