Mercury, Liberty set for winner-take-all game 3

The Phoenix Mercury and the New York Liberty face off in game three of the first round of the WNBA playoffs
SEPTEMBER 19 • Associated Press
Sharp off bench in Game 2 Meesseman accumulated 11 points (4-9 FG, 3-4 FT), six rebounds and three assists in 18 minutes during Wednesday's 86-60 loss to Phoenix.
Impact Meesseman was one of the more consistent Liberty players, and she has been a rebounding machine in this series. In the regular season she averaged 5.1 rebounds per game, but in two postseason contests against the Mercury, Meesseeman is averaging 7.0 rebounds per game.

Scores 19 points in win Meesseman finished with 19 points (7-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds and one steal across 20 minutes during Tuesday's 75-66 win over the Mystics.
Impact Meesseman led the way for her squad, scoring a game-high total off the bench. The 32-year-old center has now scored 19 or more points in three appearances during the 2025 campaign. She's averaging 13.3 points per game since signing with New York.

Responds well off bench Meesseman notched nine points (4-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt), five rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 23 minutes during Tuesday's 66-58 loss to the Valkyries.
Impact Meesseman was demoted to the bench in favor of Kennedy Burke, who ended up going scoreless in 16 minutes. In fact, Meesseman was the only player to shoot 50 percent or better with a minimum of five attempts. Her four-game streak with at least 10 points came to a close.

Sliding to bench Tuesday Meesseman won't start in Tuesday's game against the Valkyries.
Impact The 32-year-old center will slide to the bench in favor of Kennedy Burke on Tuesday. Over her last five outings (four starts), Meesseman has averaged 11.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.8 steals while shooting 61.0 percent from the field across 27.4 minutes per game.
SEPTEMBER 3 • ROTOWIRE
Scores 17 points Saturday Meeseeman scored 17 points (7-9 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT) while adding four rebounds, two assists and three steals across 30 minutes in Saturday's 80-63 loss to the Mercury.
Impact Meesseman was the leading scorer for a depleted Liberty team that was missing several valuable contributors on offense. She went through a rough patch between Aug. 16 and Aug. 25, averaging 9.6 points per game over a five-game stretch, but for the most part, she's been very productive in a starting role in New York. Expect Meesseman to continue putting up solid numbers on both ends of the court for the Liberty as the regular season comes to a close in the coming weeks.

Takes advantage of opportunity Meesseman produced 15 points (6-9 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, five assists and two steals over 28 minutes during Thursday's 89-63 win over the Mystics.
Impact Meesseman entered the starting lineup Thursday with the Liberty battling through a slew of injuries, and she put together her best scoring performance since Aug. 13. She was equally impressive on the glass and as a facilitator as she turned in a strong all-around final line. Meesseman would presumably see a similar role Saturday if Jonquel Jones (illness) is forced to miss more time.
AUGUST 29 • ROTOWIRE
Starting Thursday Meesseman will start Thursday's game against the Mystics, Geoff Magliocchetti of Winsidr reports.
Impact The Liberty are down to eight available players Thursday, allowing Meesseman to draw the start at center. Meesseman has averaged 13.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.9 blocks in 27.7 minutes per game over 10 outings as a starter this season.
AUGUST 28 • ROTOWIRE
Posts 10 points off bench Meesseman racked up 10 points (5-9 FG), two rebounds, one assist and one block across 21 minutes during Monday's 81-79 victory over Connecticut.
Impact Meesseeman was deployed to the bench, as the Liberty went with a smaller starting five. Meesseman responded well, shooting with accuracy, while also chipping in with a block, too. She has scored at least 10 points in 10 of the past 11 games, while posting at least one block in four of the past five outings.

Breanna Stewart has 19 points in return from injury to lift New York to 81-79 win over Connecticut

Breanna Stewart scored 19 points in her return from injury and Jonquel Jones added 18 to help the New York Liberty beat the Connecticut Sun 81-79
AUGUST 26 • Associated Press
Coming off bench Monday Meesseman is not in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Sun.
Impact The Liberty will deploy a smaller starting lineup Monday, with Kennedy Burke taking Meesseman's place in the first unit in the absence of Natasha Cloud (nose). Meesseman has averaged 13.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.9 blocks in 27.7 minutes per game over 10 outings this season, though her playing time figures to take a hit against Connecticut.
AUGUST 25 • ROTOWIRE
Gets back on track Saturday Meesseman posted 10 points (5-10 FG), four rebounds and four assists in 26 minutes in Saturday's 78-62 loss to the Dream.
Impact After logging single-digit points in Thursday's 91-85 loss to the Sky, Meesseman got back into double figures for the ninth time in 10 games this year. The center has averaged 13.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.3 steals in 27.7 minutes per game, though it remains to be seen if her fantasy value will take a hit once Breanna Stewart (knee) returns.
