Impact Engstler received a reserved qualifying offer from Portland on Tuesday, so the Fire had exclusive negotiating rights with her ahead of the 2026 campaign. She ultimately reached an agreement with the team a day later and will officially join one of the league's newest franchises for training camp after being selected in the first round of the 2026 WNBA Expansion Draft on Friday. Engstler played exclusively off the bench across 40 regular-season appearances with the Mystics last year and averaged 3.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 12.8 minutes per game.
