Impact Despite coming two points and two rebounds shy of a double-double in Game 4, Smith didn't make enough of an impact to help Minnesota avoid elimination. Her season comes to an end, sharing the co-Defensive Player of the Year award with Aces superstar A'ja Wilson and putting up strong numbers across the board once again. Named co-DPoY for 2025 The WNBA has named Smith and A'ja Wilson co-Defensive Players of the Year for 2025.
Impact Smith continued to make strides in her defensive skills this year, averaging a career-high 1.9 blocks to go with 1.3 steals per game over 42 regular-season games. It's the first career Defensive Player of the Year award for the 29-year-old forward, who was named to the All-Defensive second team a season ago as well. Smith also averaged 9.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 26.5 minutes per game during the regular season, and she's set for unrestricted free agency this offseason.
