Nicaragua and Puerto Rico faced off in Miami to open Pool D. In the first inning Puerto Rico’s Emanuel Rivera grounded into a fielder’s choice, Francisco Lindor scored. Nicaragua evened the score in the fifth inning, Elian Miranda crushed a solo shot to left center field off Marcus Stroman. Puerto Rico responded in the bottom half of the frame; scoring five runs. Puerto Rico would pour it on again in the seventh inning scoring three runs. Puerto Rico takes down Nicaragua 9-1 and will now play Venezuela tomorrow.
