Her takedowns were not working -- she was 0-for-11 on the night -- so Dyer was forced to bite down on the mouthpiece and press forward. She racked up 35 or more significant strikes in all three rounds, narrowly losing the overall battle 117-to-115 when it was all said and done. It's rare to see a loser get a contract, but the resilience showed here, as well as the willingness to step into the pocket despite a clear power disadvantage, proved to be enough to get the attention of UFC President Dana White.
