Struggles continue in Vegas Dumas lost to Jackson McVey via submission (Brabo Choke) at 2:14 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Impact Dumas has been trending in the wrong direction for the better part of the last two-plus years and this may have been the final straw. He was completely dominated by an opponent that hadn't been competitive in each of his first two UFC fights. Dumas was dropped with an uppercut along the fence before being choked out. The fight was essentially over the second he hit the mat. Dumas is 1-4 (1NC) in his past six fights, with all of the defeats coming via stoppage, including three in Round 1.

Facing McVey in April Dumas will take on Jackson McVey at a UFC event in Las Vegas on April 25, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.

Impact Dumas will head into the bout looking to bounce back after his recent defeat at the hands of Donte Johnson in November. The 30-year-old American owns a reach advantage but will give up a couple inches in height compared to the younger fighter from Arizona. Dumas has a fairly balanced professional record across finishes, giving him versatility in his approach to this fight, but he will have to remain wary of McVey's stopping power (3-0 professional record in KO/TKO finishes).

Impact There isn't much reason for the company to continue running Dumas out there between his issues outside the octagon and his struggles in it, but they insist on doing so and get performances like this for their troubles. Dumas got blitzed with a handful of power shots from Johnson and allowed three takedowns for 3:04 worth of control time in the six-plus minutes the fight lasted. Since winning two of his first three fights with the company, it's all fallen apart for Sedriques in the past 18 months or so. He's just 1-3 (1NC) in his past five fights, with all three losses coming via stoppage.

Impact Ideally for Dumas, UFC Vegas 110 finally sees some stability to his 2025. He suffered a TKO loss to Michal Oleksiejczuk in April and was arrested less than a month later. Before and after the spring, Dumas underweight multiple fight cancellations and an accidental foul while fighting Zachary Reese.

Victim of accidental foul Dumas and Zachary Reese fought to a no contest (accidental foul) at 0:51 of Round 1 at UFC Noche on Saturday in San Antonio.

Impact There isn't much to breakdown with this one. Dumas absorbed a low blow about a minute into the fight and immediately dropped to the ground in agony. He still couldn't stand up after several minutes and that was that. Look for the UFC to try to re-book this matchup as soon as Dumas is healthy enough for action.

Impact The 6-foot-2 middleweight will finally return to the octagon, barring any setbacks, after stepping out of his scheduled fight against Jackson McVey back in June. Dumas was arrested in May which could have contributed to his dropout and delayed scheduling, but it appears he has everything figured out now ahead of September. He'll aim for his first win of 2025 against Reese, who is 3-2 in the UFC.

Impact It's unclear at this juncture why Dumas has stepped out of the fight on four days' notice. He'll be replaced by UFC newcomer Christoper Ewert.

Impact Dumas last competed in April, when he was stopped in the first round by Michal Oleksiejczuk to drop his second fight in his last three trips to the Octagon. The UFC has historically not punished fighters for any type of non-fight-related misconduct outside of the organization and will presumably let the legal process play out. Don't expect a booking for Dumas any time soon, however, as he remains in policy custody with his next court date set for May 23.

Impact It was a dreadful performance from Dumas. He appeared jumpy and out of sorts from the very start and was never able to get on track. He was eventually dropped by a combination and finished with a barrage of follow-up shots. Dumas was visibly upset with the stoppage, but referee Marc Goddard gave him multiple chances to get his act together and it clearly wasn't happening. The definition of roster depth, Dumas is sporting a 3-3 record in his first half dozen UFC bouts.
