Clinches opener in Hong Kong Tomljanovic defeated Momoko Kobori in the round of 32 of the Hong Kong Open with a score of 7-5, 6-2 on Monday.
Impact Tomljanovic converted five break points in the match, three more than her opponent. She won 68.8 percent points on first serve. In comparison, Kobori won 53.1 percent points on her first serve. Next up for Tomljanovic will be Romania's Sorana Cirstea.

Impact Tomljanovic backed up her upset of the No. 5 seed in the previous round with another win as she moved past the No. 76-ranked qualifier across one hour and 51 minutes to reach the quarterfinals. The No. 104-ranked Australian went 5-for-8 on break point chances and saved 9-of-13 break points against her own serve. Tomljanovic will face either No. 3 seed Elena Rybakina (0-2 H2H) or Dayana Yastremska (0-4 H2H) next.
