WWE TLC 2016: Match Order Predictions
WWE TLC is this Sunday night. With another fantastic card put out by SmackDown Live, what will be the likely order for the matches?
WWE TLC is perhaps shaping up to be the most anticipated match card for SmackDown here in 2016. Of course, Backlash, as well as No Mercy, returned to WWE earlier this year, but who doesn’t love a good, old-fashioned Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match to decide who is indeed the top dog on SmackDown Live. Of course, I am referring to AJ Styles versus Dean Ambrose for the WWE World Championship, the most coveted prize in sports entertainment today. The American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas will be the host for this tremendous pay-per-view.
There will be four title matches at TLC 2016, making for a huge card from top to bottom. The tag team titles will be on the line in Dallas as the newly formed Wyatt Family will take on the champions, Beauty and the Man Beast, Heath Slater and Rhyno. The Intercontinental Championship will be defended this Sunday night in a familiar ladder match as well. Dolph Ziggler will attempt to regain the IC title from the Miz once again. Of course, we cannot forget the much-anticipated rematch for the SmackDown Women’s Championship between the Irish Lass Kicker, Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss.
Last but not least, Dean Ambrose will finally be able to get his hands on WWE World Champion, AJ Styles. This will be the soul TLC match at the pay-per-view Sunday night. In what order can we potentially expect to see the matches fall. Let’s examine and take a look at the opener for the show.

Ladder Match for the WWE Intercontinental ChampionshipThe Miz (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler
WWE TLC 2016 will need to start off with a bang. What better way to kick off the show than with the Intercontinental Championship ladder match. Dolph Ziggler and the Miz will settle this feud once and for all at TLC. These two superstars have been feuding since September with both men able to wear the coveted championship gold. Dolph won it from Miz back at No Mercy when he put his entire career on the line to do so. Miz, then won it back a few weeks ago with some help, of course. These two superstars have put on some epic matches over the course of the past couple of months.
General Manager, Daniel Bryan has stated that this will be these two’s final meeting at the current time. So, it is do or die, feast or famine, win or go home for both superstars this weekend in the lone star state. One question fans may be asking themselves is if Ziggler’s career isn’t on the line, does he have what it takes to win once again. Neither men have to worry about pinning one another this time around. They will have to climb the ladder and retrieve the title.

No DQ MatchNikki Bella vs. Carmella
The next match should be the no disqualification match between bitter rivals Carmella and Nikki Bella. This is a rivalry that has been stemming back all the way to SummerSlam this past August. These two ladies last fought at No Mercy back in October. The former Diva’s Champion, Nikki Bella came out victorious over the WWE newcomer and the Princess of Staten Island, Carmella. What will be the result this weekend when there are no rules.
SmackDown Live will have to represent their women’s division well after Raw had Charlotte and Sasha Banks fight in a no disqualification, falls count anywhere match this past Monday. Bella claimed that it was, in fact, Carmella that had attacked her before the elimination match at Survivor Series, rendering the fearless one unable to compete. This should be an intriguing match-up to keep the crowd going. Who will come out victorious this time around?

WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship MatchRhyno and Heath Slater (c) vs. The Wyatt Family
Beauty and the Man Beast at last have new number one contenders for their tag team championships. They will take on the new Wyatt Family consisting of Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton. Luke Harper will likely be at ringside to help their cause. The team of Heath Slater and Rhyno have been the tag team champions on SmackDown Live since Backlash back in September when they defeated the Usos. They will certainly have their hands full, as the Wyatt Family may be their toughest test to date.
Heath Slater has recently become a fan favorite for WWE fans. This should be an energetic match-up to get the fans back on their feet. The tag team division has been revolutionized in recent months. Will this Cinderella story of a tag team hold on to their titles or will they face the same fate that Raw did just two weeks ago at Survivor Series?

Chairs MatchBaron Corbin vs. Kalisto
The WWE Universe will finally get to see the match-up between the Lone Wolf, Baron Corbin and the high-flying Luchador, Kalisto. This too, is a match that is months in the making. Corbin attacked Kalisto backstage for two weeks straight. He claimed it was Kalisto that has cost him his chance at the Intercontinental Championship. Kalisto was then sidelined for multiple months due to the injury sustained. There is a lot of turmoil between these and this is a match-up fans want to see.
Now, the focus has been the constant attacks Corbin has inflicted on the former United States Champion. Corbin has since cost Kalisto a shot at both the Cruiserweight and Intercontinental championships respectively. This occurred in the span of just two days. These two will now duke it out in a chair match to settle their differences. How will Kalisto fare in this one against the much larger opponent? It should be an exciting match. Kalisto is always entertaining when he steps foot inside the ring.

Tables Match for the SmackDown Women’s ChampionshipBecky Lynch (c) vs. Alexa Bliss
The co-main event this weekend should be the SmackDown Women’s Championship match between Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss. These two faced off a number of weeks ago for the title. Lynch was ultimately victorious, however in controversial fashion. Alexa Bliss had her foot on the rope as she tapped out to one of Lynch’s finishers, the Dis-Arm-Her. The referee had not seen Bliss’ foot on the bottom rope as he called for the bell after Bliss had tapped out.
Bliss will not get her rematch in a tables match, which Bliss had challenged her too this past Tuesday night on SmackDown. What will be the result as the women do not need to pin or submit one another in this one? Going through a table is the only way to win this bout. These two superstars put on an excellent match a few weeks back on an episode of SmackDown Live and I would expect nothing less this weekend in Dallas.

TLC Match for the WWE World ChampionshipAJ Styles (c) vs. Dean Ambrose
The main event of TLC will, of course, be the WWE World Championship match, which will be contested under TLC rules. The challenger, Dean Ambrose has had a bitter taste in his mouth since losing his world title to AJ Styles at Backlash in September. Styles used a low blow while the referee was not looking in order to defeat the then world champion, Ambrose. This was Styles’ first championship with WWE. He has held the title since. Anything goes in this match and with both superstars styles in the ring, it could be a potential match of the year candidate.
Over the past couple of months, both men have interfered in each other’s businesses. The Lunatic Fringe, Ambrose has aided in three victories for James Ellsworth in recent weeks, which has infuriated the Champion. Ambrose even helped Ellsworth gain a contract and championship opportunity at the expense of Styles. Ellsworth will likely be at least at ringside this weekend. Will he get involved in the match or will he perhaps be a participant? It is a possibility that Ellsworth requests to be in the match. This match-up will certainly be one to watch and I cannot wait to see it.
