WWE TLC 2016: 3 Reasons Alexa Bliss Should Defeat Becky Lynch

WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch takes on Alexa Bliss at WWE TLC in a rematch that will involve tables. The WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship will be the match to watch this Sunday night.
The feud between Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss took a turbulent turn Tuesday night at their contract signing. When things heated up between the two, it was Bliss who would send Lynch flying through a table thanks to her quick thinking. Later on, an infuriated Lynch vowed to take Bliss down on Sunday.
The trend continues for the former NXT alums who have debuted in July due to the WWE Draft. Both Bliss and Carmella have dominated the Smackdown Women’s Division in their respective feuds, showing the fans that they were not to be looked over. Bliss has been red hot since winning the opportunity to face Lynch months back. The spunky spitfire has been on a rampage since their match several weeks ago in Glasgow. If that match is anything to go by, it was a prelude to what we will see Sunday night.
One thing for sure is Bliss’ mean streak is the key regardless if she wins or loses at TLC. The referee’s mistake in Glasgow only fueled her temper further, but Bliss must not let it blind her in the Tables match. If Bliss wins however, she will quickly lay down the fact that she is the one to beat on the Smackdown Women’s Division.
The question here, is it Bliss’ time to be Smackdown Women’s Champion? She has grown into her own over the last year, and has done well for herself since coming onto the blue brand. With Smackdown taking risks in the brand extension, we could very well see the Championship change hands for the first time at TLC. It could very well be the surprise of the night for fans.
The Smackdown Women’s Division is already doing well so far. However, why not take it a step further with a win from Bliss? This certainly is a bout that can go either way. If Lynch does win, where does Bliss go from TLC? Her run has been too hot to just become lost in the Division. As far as the match goes, another referee mistake won’t cut it, but could a disqualification happen to make it Lynch v. Bliss part three? Or will we see part three with Lynch on the challenger side?
Let’s examine three reasons why Bliss should win Sunday night.

3. Shock Factor
When Bliss came onto Smackdown in July, not many fans would have guessed that she would be in one of the brand’s top feuds come the end of the year. It was apparent that when Bliss, Carmella, and Eva Marie were drafted to Smackdown that the pressure was on for them to deliver. Smackdown was in need of building a stable Women’s Division. Come now in December, the division has been flourishing.
With the historic matchup between Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair on Monday night, the pressure will continue to mount for Bliss and Lynch. Their Tables match may not surpass Banks and Flair, but it must get people talking. Add in a good showing for Bliss, a win for her would surprise fans. TLC is Smackdown’s showing, and it must match the success of No Mercy.
Bliss didn’t hold the NXT Women’s Championship, so for her to come onto Smackdown and win the Championship less than six months into her debut speaks volumes. She’s already come so far, and to win Sunday night would be like icing on the cake for her.

2. Extends feud
When it comes to the Smackdown Women’s Division, there are only seven women who occupy the Division. With Eva Marie gone, it goes down to six. Nikki Bella and Carmella have their own feud going on, which leaves Natalya and Naomi. I don’t see Naomi vying for the Championship anytime soon, and Natalya could possibly be Lynch’s next contender should Lynch win.
The good thing is that Smackdown is invested in Bliss considering the events of the feud thus far. However, the bad thing is what happens after the program is over? Again, if Bliss did lose, then what would be next for her granted the loss was clean? Would she feud with Naomi? A Bliss loss leaves more questions than answers.
Best case scenario would be for Bliss to win, thus it sets up for the feud with Lynch to continue. Whether it would set up for or around the Royal Rumble would yet to be determined. Either way, if it’s not broke, Smackdown shouldn’t fix it. It is all or nothing for Bliss.

1. Star Power
With only a few women in the Women’s Division, the ladies are at an advantage when it comes to star power on their respective brands. Raw has been making history with Banks and Flair creating rich legacies in the process. Smackdown needs to follow that lead doing the same for Lynch and Bliss. Lynch already has good wrestling history that precedes her including the Divas Revolution in 2015. Both ladies deserve more on their resumes.
Lynch is the face of the Women’s Division, and she won’t go anywhere anytime soon. However, it is unclear who the top heel is on the Smackdown Women’s Division. Both Bliss and Carmella have been doing a phenomenal job in their feuds with Lynch and Bella. This is a good problem to have, and it leaves the door open for bigger risks in the future. But, Bliss’ Championship win will answer that question for fans and establish her as a real, legitimate threat.
So will the Lass Kicker overcome the Five Feet of Fury? Or will Alexa Bliss shock the world by ending Lynch’s inaugural reign? The fight has turned ugly and it will spill over in the ring at TLC Sunday night. One thing for sure is that it will not be pretty by the time the match is over regardless of who the winner is.
