Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt is on for the WWE No Mercy pay-per-view.

At WWE Backlash, Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton were expected to have a match. However, due to the latter not being cleared to compete, this got canceled. Kane would face The Eater of Worlds instead, and win off a distraction from Orton. It seemingly would push their feud toward the No Mercy pay-per-view.

Since that pay-per-view, The Viper and Wyatt have gone back and forth on the microphone. This included Tuesday’s events, which saw them chasing each other throughout the backstage area. It resulted in a creepy image of Orton with a sheep mask on and Wyatt cryptically ending up in his chair.

Well, this ongoing feud seems to be heading toward a match. WWE announced on Wednesday, that Orton and Wyatt will go head to head at the No Mercy PPV. This takes place on Sunday, October 9 from the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, CA.

After about five weeks of build, this match will finally take place at No Mercy, barring another injury. This will be the first time these Superstars have wrestled each other on programming, making for a refreshing matchup in less than two weeks.

Orton is coming off a TKO loss to Brock Lesnar at WWE SummerSlam, and went down to The Beast Incarnate, again on Saturday. So, The Apex Predator will look for his first PPV win since returning from injury in July.

Wyatt hasn’t had much luck at live specials. He hasn’t had a singles win at one of them since Battleground in 2015. A win here may be necessary for his future, unless WWE has other plans in mind.

This match will join AJ Styles vs. Dean Ambrose vs. John Cena, Becky Lynch vs. Alexa Bliss, Rhyno and Heath Slater vs. The Usos, and The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler. Is this card enticing enough to make you tune into No Mercy?
