WWE Announces Lince Dorado for Raw's Cruiserweight Division
After 10 names got confirmed, it seems an 11th one will join them on WWE Raw in Lince Dorado.
With the WWE Cruiserweight Classic having concluded, we can look forward to some of the competitors debuting on the September 19 episode of Raw. This list originally included Akira Tozawa, Brian Kendrick, Cedric Alexander, Gran Metalik, Jack Gallagher, Johnny Gargano, Noam Dar, Rich Swann, TJ Perkins, and Tommaso Ciampa.
It seemed those would be the first 10 that would appear on Monday nights. However, it seems we’ll be getting an 11th name. WWE confirmed on Friday that Cruiserweight Classic competitor, Lince Dorado will be part of the cruiserweight division. He got eliminated in Round 2 by Swann.
In the article, WWE also mentioned that Kendrick, Swann, Metalik, Alexander, and Dar are confirmed, along with Cruiserweight Champion, Perkins.
It would seem that these are the first batch of Superstars being used. It’s possible they finished up their other commitments, leading to being confirmed for Raw. Alexander and Dorado wrestled at Thursday’s NXT taping at Full Sail University, so they have officially begun working for WWE.
As for the rest, note that Gargano’s wedding is taking place on Friday, with Ciampa as one of his groomsmen. So, it’s possible that at least Johnny Wrestling’s Raw debut will be delayed with a potential honeymoon.
Regarding Dorado, he stands at 5-foot-7, 168 pounds, and represented Puerto Rico in the Cruiserweight Classic. He’s a high-flyer that has over nine years of experience, which you can see him talk about below.
Highlights from his matches against Mustafa Ali and Swann can be seen below.
We’ll see these first seven cruiserweights debut on Monday’s episode of Raw. There are no confirmed segments for them yet, but fans should be introduced to them when the show goes live in Memphis, TN.
