Following his surprising attack, is Randy Orton joining The Wyatt Family on WWE SmackDown?

Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt have feuded for the past two months on WWE SmackDown. This started once Orton lost his SummerSlam match to Brock Lesnar and when Wyatt was doing, well, nothing. They were supposed to wrestle at Backlash, but The Viper not being cleared from a concussion postponed this to No Mercy. Luke Harper would return at that pay-per-view to help The Eater of Worlds win.

Their feud would continue in the weeks after No Mercy, including on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live. Wyatt and Kane would have a No Disqualification match, which had Harper interfere. However, Orton came to The Big Red Monster’s aid, or that’s what it seemed.

After it looked like Orton and Kane were about to take out Harper and Wyatt, The Apex Predator turned to the long-time WWE star and RKO’d him. This allowed Wyatt to win the match.

Later on SmackDown, Orton got interviewed backstage. He was quickly asked about what happened in the ring, which led to a response of “If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em”.

This may mean Orton is going to align with Wyatt in the coming weeks. It’s a surprising turn of events given this angst-filled feud.

Orton may also be trying to get into Wyatt’s head. This program has been full of these two playing mind games with each other, so could this be the ultimate one? They could work side by side for a few weeks until, out of nowhere, the former Evolution member hits an RKO on The Cult-Like Leader. This could spark one more match between the two at a later date.

Randy Orton joining The Wyatt Family is the latest turn of events to take place on SmackDown. What will happen next?
