No. 23 Maryland 82, Massachusetts 50

Freshman Alyssa Thomas scored 15 points and No. 23 Maryland routed Massachusetts 82-50 on Saturday at the Pirate Invitational.

Tianna Hawkins added 14 points for the Terrapins (5-1), who shot 54 percent, turned 20 UMass turnovers into 30 points and dominated the glass in winning their fourth straight.

Megan Zullo, a Greenville native and North Carolina State transfer, scored 14 points to lead UMass (0-5). The Minutewomen shot just 33 percent and finished with just two points in the paint.

Diandra Tchatchouang and Lynetta Kizer scored 11 points apiece for Maryland, which had a 47-25 rebounding advantage and led 39-19 at halftime.

The Terrapins won both of their games in East Carolina's holiday invitational by an average of 24 points.
