Davidson coach Annette Watts has stepped down after nine seasons.

Watts says in a release put out by the school that she resigned because it was the right move for her and the program.

Watts is the winningest coach in school history with a career record of 144-121. She went 102-68 in Southern Conference play and led Davidson to the WNIT in 2007.

The Wildcats (14-15, 12-8) finished in sixth place in the league this season.
