Bowling Green AD will head women's committee

Bowling Green athletic director Greg Christopher will be the new chairman of the NCAA Division I women's basketball committee for the 2011-12 academic year.

The move was announced Tuesday by the NCAA. Christopher will be the first man to serve as committee chair.

Currently serving his third year as a member of the committee, Christopher will succeed Marilyn McNeil, the vice president/director of athletics at Monmouth University on Sept. 1.

Christopher is a native of West Lafayette, Ind., and currently in his fifth year as athletic director at Bowling Green. He has a master's of business and bachelor's in mass communication from Miami (Ohio), where he played football.
