Sparks keep pace atop Western Conference, beat Wings 87-79

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) Nneka Ogwumike had 28 points and 12 rebounds, Kristi Toliver added 24 points and the Los Angeles Sparks pulled away to beat the Dallas Wings 87-79 on Friday night.

The Sparks (23-5) have won two straight to keep pace with the Minnesota Lynx atop the Western Conference.

Odyssey Sims scored 26 points to lead Dallas (9-20). The Stars have dropped 10 straight, the longest current losing streak in the WNBA. Glory Johnson had 16 points and 15 rebounds, and Aerial Powers scored 14 points for the Wings.

Ogwumike made a driving, one-handed jumper off the glass to stretch the Sparks' lead to 83-77 with 48 seconds left. Powers missed a 3-point attempt on the Wings' next possession, and the Sparks made 4 of 6 free throws to end it.

Dallas jumped out to a 23-15 first-quarter lead, but Los Angeles came back to take a 43-41 halftime advantage.
