Undefeated Iranian prospect Beneil Dariush signed to face Jason High
Following the exit of Russian Adlan Amagov from the upcoming UFC Fight Night card in Atlanta, GA, newcomer Beneil Dariush has been tapped to step in and face Jason High on Jan 15.
Dariush (6-0) is an undefeated prospect originally hailing from Iran who now trains under the team at Kings MMA in California alongside UFC notables such as welterweight competitor Jake Ellenberger.
Originally inspired to get into the sport after watching a Georges St-Pierre fight, Dariush is best known for his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu game where he achieved black belt status before walking away from grappling competitions to focus solely on MMA.
Dariush had a close encounter with notable jiu-jitsu star Kron Gracie in one of his biggest grappling matches losing in a controversial match. Outside of that, Dariush is undefeated in his MMA career although he hasn't faced a high level of competition yet despite his 6-0 record.
He'll certainly get that test in January when he faces welterweight Jason High, who has won his last two fights in a row after losing his debut bout in the UFC last year.
The two welterweights will now meet on the upcoming card with the final bout order still pending from the UFC for the show that will air on FOX Sports 1.
