Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

After a very impressive UFC debut earlier this month Mark Diakiese gets a quick turnaround and will be fighting in New York.

The Englishman obviously made an impression during his winning debut against Lukasz Sawjeski at UFC 204 in Manchester earlier this month because his second bout is already signed.

UFC Fight Night 102 takes place Dec. 9 at the Times Centre in Albany, New York and will now feature an exciting fight between the 155-pound newcomer Mark Diakiese who will take on the returning Frankie Perez.

Diakiese (10-0) is the former BAMMA lightweight champion who was signed by the promotion prior to UFC 204 which took place in Manchester, England. Coming into the fight with a tremendous amount of hype behind him, Diakiese did not disappoint on his way to a second round TKO victory over the ever tough Lukasz Sawjeski. Undefeated through out his career so far the win marks his third straight knockout victory.

Fighting Perez will be no easy task and this will be a huge step up in competition aswell as a very tough test for the young and very hungry english fighter.

Perez (10-2) has not been in the octagon since obliterating Sam Stout at UFC Fight Night 74 last August. After his victory Perez announced his retirement from the sport but a year on the very talented 27-year old is ready to resume his fighting career.

While Perez dropped his UFC debut to Johnny Case he rebounded from that loss in magnificent fashion defeating one of the better known fighters around the world in Sam Stout. Not only was it a much-needed win but showed the rest of division that he is not to be taken lightly.
