UFC 205 is right around the corner, and as of now, here are the latest betting odds.
UFC 205 has 3 title fights and odds makers at 5dimes have 2 of the current champions as underdogs. Lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez and welterweight champion Tyron Woodley are both set to make their first title defense and are both betting underdogs to the challengers. Women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk is a heavy betting favorite over challenger Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
Jedrzejczyk (12-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) and Kowalkiewicz (10-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) have already crossed paths back when both fighters were amateurs back in 2012. Jedrzejczyk won by submission in the 1st round. Since that fight, both fighters turned pro and are both undefeated as professionals.
Alvarez (28-4 MMA, 3-1 UFC) is looking to make his first title defense since winning the lightweight championship at UFC Fight Night 90 in July. He is facing current featherweight champion Conor McGregor (20-3 MMA, 8-1 UFC). McGregor earned his shot at the lightweight title by beating Nate Diaz at UFC 202 in a welterweight bout. McGregor hasn’t fought in the lightweight division since he earned the Cage Warriors lightweight championship in 2012.
Woodley (16-3 MMA, 6-2 UFC) is defending his welterweight championship for the first time against Stephen Thompson (13-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC). Woodley won the welterweight championship by knocking out Robbie Lawler just 2:12 in the first round at UFC 201. Thompson is on a 7 fight win streak with 4 of the wins by way of KO/TKO.
