Tim Kennedy surged up three spots to No. 6 in the most recent UFC middleweight rankings, but with so much momentum on his side, there was a chance he might have to go idle after his breakthrough win over Michael Bisping.

In the aftermath of his victory, Kennedy reluctantly admitted that he'd likely broken his right hand in the first round of the fight, and competed for the duration with the fracture.

As it turns out, the problem isn't as bad as he first suspected.

After both an X-ray and MRI, Kennedy's doctors have ruled out any serious injury, he told FOX Sports on Thursday.

He did acknowledge some damage, but did not elaborate, terming it "little stuff."

"I'll be fine in short order," he told FOX Sports.

His win over Bisping, a lopsided unanimous decision, was his first-ever win over a top-five opponent. The 34-year-old has won four straight overall, including all three of his UFC starts. On Wednesday, Kennedy (18-4) began campaigning for his next opponent, referencing both Vitor Belfort and Chael Sonnen in a social media post.

With his good news, he might not have to wait very long to find out if he gets either one of them, or someone else.

"I have bones made out of adamantium," he said.
