Sage Northcutt, Mickey Gall clash at UFC on FOX 22
At UFC on FOX 22 in Sacramento, California, Mickey Gall gets his wish and will face Sage Northcutt in a welterweight bout.
Two products from Dana White’s reality series Lookin’ for a Fight have had successful runs in the UFC so far and are looking to get a decent streak going before facing a top level fighter in the promotion.
The first one to make his UFC debut was Sage Northcutt. Facing Francisco Trevino, he was able to dominate the fight pretty early by hurting him, securing the takedown and finishing him off with some ground and pound. He went on to beat Cody Pfister, lose to Bryan Barberena, and most recently, beat Enrique Marin by unanimous decision. He currently stands at 3-1 in the UFC.
The other prospect is Mickey Gall. Known for calling out CM Punk after his win, which was shown during Lookin’ for a Fight, he got a shot in the UFC against Mike Jackson. The winner of the fight would go on to face Punk in his UFC debut. Gall made quick work of Jackson by dropping him early and submitting him on the ground.
Then, this past September, he faced Punk and did what everybody expected. He was able to secure an early takedown and submit Punk in the first round. In the post-fight speech, he called out Northcutt and now, he got his wish.
According to ESPN, at UFC on FOX 22 in Sacramento, California, Northcutt will face off against Gall in a welterweight bout.

Although Northcutt is a natural lightweight, his last two matchups have been at welterweight. In an interview with Ariel Helwani during The MMA Hour, he stated that this will be his last fight in the division before going back down to lightweight.
Gall just wants to get more fights in to work up a nice winning streak and eventually become a UFC champion.
UFC on FOX 22 will go down on Dec. 17 at the Golden 1 Center.
